And...he's back! After a short spell away, Ivan Lewis has returned to the fold and will continue to direct our shows going forward. We want to extend our deepest thanks to Richard Bond, the young maestro, who kept us going through rehearsals and a concert through the latter part of 2023. He really did do us proud and, we're very pleased to say, is continuing to play trombone in the band, as well as taking rehearsals in Ivan's absence.
Also, we are building our selection of shows for the year (details below) quite nicely and hope this leads to more shows in the coming years. As with all bands currently, we're having to slowly pick up performing again after the Covid rules decimated the show calendars for amateurs and professionals alike. We're confident of achieving this with the help of all our supporters, clients and band members.
We are immensely proud that the band has surpassed it's 50th year and we are determined to continue to bring the best of entertainment to you for many more years to come. We hope to see you at one of our shows soon.

The Ashton-on-Mersey Showband has been playing music to the people of the North-West of England since it began in 1973. It has played in countries across Europe and in America and raised almost £1,000,000 for UK charities. It currently comprises of over 30 musicians of outstanding calibre, who give their time and efforts for free. Click here for more of our history.
If you play an instrument we feature in the band, contact us. We recommend you should be comfortable reading and playing written music to ABRSM Grade 5 standard to really enjoy our arrangements although this is not a requirement to join. The ethos of the band is to play good music and enjoy ourselves.
